We're fortunate to have an open fire. I like this time of the year so we're able to start using it again. The merits of central heating, gas or electric are clear but there's just something about an open fire that beats it hands down. I'm sitting by the fire now as I type this and I'm surrounded by a gentle warm glow - the sort that makes you feel good inside. There's nothing like it...
