The right time

When's the right time to eat? Before I got married, I used to eat late - sometimes 8 or 9pm. Apparently this is too late, or so I've been told... My wife is developing a habit of making me eat when my son does at about 5-6pm. She also likes to eat at this time. My problem is that by 8pm, I'm feeling hungry again. What's the norm? Is there a norm? Surely with people working all hours it's something that depends on personal circumstance...
Thought I'd bring it up as it's nearing 5pm here and my wife's started the oven up...

  1. Hi Matt,
Thank you for visiting my blog and welcome to the world of blogging. I have found blogging to be a great way to write down whatever is on your mind, whether it be good or bad. It helps to reales whatever feelings are bottle up inside of you.
After spending 20 or so years of being an Investigator in Law Enforcement and then an Investigator with a Public Defenders Program...working for many attorneys, I ended up being a stay at home Dad. Partly it was because my wife has a job where we would move fairly frequently. As time went by and the kids went out on their own, I morphed into a house husband. I too struggled with the feelings of not contributing to the family finances and not really doing anything worthwhile. My wife likes it that I am not working because I end up doing all of the house work and chores that she really doesn't like to deal with. Between house work and doing my long walks and light weight lifting, I keep fairly busy throughout the day.
As far as eating goes, I usually eat between 5-6PM. I gain a ton of weight if I start eating any later than that. My biggest enemy as far as gaing weight, is my snacking around 9-10 at night.
Keep up the great work on your blog. Rick

Lynda Bellingham

I was shocked to hear of the passing of Lynda Bellingham on Sunday. I had known she was terminally ill, but I really thought, as did man...
